How to get the most out of CØLM.

Everything we wish someone had told us when we started: how to apply the cream, how it fits into your routine, what to expect in the first 30 days – and what to do if something feels different.

Before you start

CØLM is a targeted night cream for sensitive and reactive skin – not a regular moisturizer. That’s why it’s worth taking five minutes to get started the right way.

  • Start small. Apply a thin layer to a smaller area for the first few evenings so you can learn how your skin responds.
  • One new thing at a time. Sensitive skin rarely benefits from introducing several new products at once. Wait until you know CØLM before trying anything else new.
  • Take off your jewelry. CØLM contains sulfur, which can discolor silver and gold-plated silver. Avoid direct contact with jewelry.
  • Take a photo in daylight. It’s hard to remember what your skin looked like two weeks ago. A photo from day 1 makes it easy to see your own progress.

How to apply CØLM

Use CØLM in the evening as the last step in your routine. Here’s how – step by step:

Illustration: wash your face
Wash your faceLukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel – avoid rubbing.
Illustration: pat on the cream
Pat on a thin layerTake a small dab – the texture is thick and balm-like, so a little goes a long way. Pat it onto the affected areas instead of rubbing.
Illustration: leave the cream on overnight
Leave it on overnightThe cream works while you sleep. It forms a light, matte, slightly whitish layer – that’s the zinc oxide.

Where should you apply it?

  • The cheeks – where redness is often most noticeable
  • The nose – the bridge and around the nostrils
  • Around the mouth and chin
  • Only where your skin is red or irritated – not necessarily your whole face
Good to know

A cooling sensation when applied is expected - it comes from the cooling formula.

CØLM in your routine

CØLM is the final step in the evening. In the morning, rinse it off and keep the rest simple.

🌙 Evening

  1. Gentle cleanser
  2. Moisturiser - only if your skin feels dry. Let it absorb completely.
  3. CØLM as the final step

☀️ Morning

  1. Rinse off CØLM with a gentle cleanser
  2. A gentle moisturiser
  3. Protect your skin from the sun during the day

Do you use acids or retinol?

As a general rule, CØLM can be combined with the rest of your routine. If you use active ingredients such as acids or retinol, introduce CØLM gradually and see how your skin responds.

The first 30 days

Everyone’s skin is different, but this is what the process typically looks like:

The first few eveningsA cooling, soothing sensation when applied. Some people experience slight, temporary increased redness when they start using it - so apply a thin layer to a smaller area.
Week 1Find your rhythm. If your skin feels dry, apply moisturiser first.
Week 2Many people notice a difference within the first 2 weeks.
Weeks 3–4Stick with it. Consistency - every night - is what makes the difference.
Day 30Look at your photo from day 1. If you don’t notice any improvement, our skin improvement guarantee applies.

When something feels different

Most questions we get at the start are about the same four things:

What you might notice
What to do
Your skin feels dry
Apply your usual moisturiser or a richer cream first, let it absorb completely, then apply CØLM on top.
Slightly increased redness during the first few days
This can happen when you start using it. Apply a thin layer to a smaller area and build up slowly.
A cooling sensation
This is expected and comes from the cooling formula. If it feels like too much, apply moisturiser first.
A white, matte layer on the skin
That’s the zinc oxide, and it’s completely normal. Rinse it off in the morning.

Where are you on your skin journey?

Everyone’s skin journey is different. Find the path that best describes where you are right now:

Path 1

“My skin is still unsettled”

This is normal at first - some skin takes longer to adjust. Make sure you’re applying a thin layer every night and haven’t introduced any other new products at the same time. If your skin feels dry, apply moisturiser first. Please get in touch if you’re unsure.

Path 2

“I can feel a difference”

Stick with your routine - this is when consistency pays off. Keep the rest of your routine simple and gentle.

Track 3

“My skin has calmed down”

Wonderful. Many people make CØLM a regular part of their evening routine to keep their skin calm. Make sure you don’t run out.

Questions and answers

Is CØLM a regular moisturizer?

No. It also contains moisturizing and protective ingredients, but is formulated as a targeted night cream for skin affected by redness and sensitivity – built around zinc oxide and sulfur.

Why should I use it in the evening?

At night, the skin is exposed to fewer external factors, and the cream can stay on for many hours. Many people with reactive skin also find that redness and a feeling of warmth increase later in the day.

Is the cream fragrance-free?

Yes. Fragrance is one of the most common causes of reactions in sensitive skin, so CØLM is fragrance-free.

Is the cream tested on animals?

No. CØLM is cruelty-free and has been developed through ongoing iterations – by us and in collaboration with customers.

What’s the difference between CØLM and ZZ-Creme?

They share the same active ingredients, zinc oxide and sulfur. CØLM has a gentler formula with less menthol – better suited to very sensitive skin – and comes in 30 ml compared to ZZ-Creme’s 20 ml. If you already use ZZ-Creme without any problems, there’s no reason to switch.

How much should I use?

Less than you think. A thin layer on the affected areas is enough – a little goes a long way.
